Connecticut Library Consortium Sponsors bus to Midwinter ALA Boston

Just want to remind you that CLC is sponsoring a bus to the exhibits at ALA Midwinter in Boston. If you've been to an ALA conference, you know aboutthe exhibits. But if you've never been to ALA, this is your chance!Hundreds of vendors (literally) in one place, all of them eager to talk toyou -- and some of them eager to give you things. OK, maybe only a pencil, but sometimes a deal on books, free posters, catalogs, and lots ofinformation.

The date for this event is Sunday, January 16. The bus leaves theTerryville Library at 8:00 a.m., stops in Vernon around 9:00, and should getto Boston by 11:00. The bus will leave Boston promptly at 4:00, so you canhave a full day at ALA, but be home in plenty of time to see eitherDesperate Housewives or The Librarian.

It's $25 for the bus. (Anita Barney reports that she drove to Boston this summer, and paid $35/night to park.) Make checks payable to CLC, and send to Sharon LaCourse at Terryville Library, 238 Main Street, Terryville, CT06786.

The exhibits pass is $25. Go to ALA's web site(http://www.ala.org/ala/eventsandconferencesb/midwinter/2005/registration.htm) to register or to print out a form.Register yourself, your staff, your Friends, your Board -- the more the merrier! Questions? Call Sharon at 860-585-4068 or email atslacourse@biblio.org.Many thanks to Sharon for pulling this together, and to Anita for spreadingthe word.
