2005 NELIG Annual Conference

Save the Date! NELIG Annual Conference

“Making Learning Meaningful: Getting to the Heart of the Student” is the theme of this year’s event to be held at the University of Southern Maine, Portland on Friday June 10, 2005.

Don’t miss the chance to hear this year’s keynote speaker, Dr. Kenneth R. Bain, the founding director of the Center for Teaching Excellence at New York University. His research into teaching and learning issues is well known and he has received numerous awards and accolades. Dr. Bain’s book What the Best College Teachers Do won the 2004 Virginia and Warren Stone Prize for an outstanding book on education and society (for more information, go to http://www.hup.harvard.edu/catalog/BAIBES.html).

Attendees will have an opportunity to book a room at The Eastland Park Hotel, 157 High Street, Portland (207-775-5411), at a special rate of $104 per night—good until May 9, 2005.

Registration fee will be $30 for members, $35 for non-members.
